Kalmevo Letters
Editorial Standards

Noting the Process.

Kalmevo Letters operates under defined editorial principles. This page describes how articles are selected, sourced, reviewed, and published — and how errors, if any, are addressed.

01 — Our Principles

A defined approach to each article.

Kalmevo Letters operates under the following editorial principles: articles are reviewed by at least one second editor before publication, sources are cited where appropriate, corrections are noted publicly, and writers disclose any commercial relationships that could influence their selection of subject matter.

The publication does not accept sponsored content, paid placement, or commercial influence of any kind. Subject matter is selected entirely on the basis of editorial relevance to the publication's focus areas: afternoon energy patterns, post-meal alertness, and everyday food choices.

Content published by Kalmevo Letters is selected based on published nutritional research and reviewed for editorial accuracy by a second editor before publication.

01

Topic Identification

Each article begins with a specific question about food and afternoon energy. Topics are drawn from published nutritional research, reader correspondence, and field observation. Promotional angles are excluded at this stage.

02

Source Research

Writers draw on peer-reviewed dietary literature, independent nutritional research, and published food studies. Each factual claim is traced to a named source. Where sources are not publicly accessible, this is noted in the article.

03

Writing and Editorial Framing

The article is written in the publication's established editorial register: precise, without promotional language, and grounded in observation rather than guideline. Claims are proportionate to the evidence available.

04

Second Editorial Review

Every piece is reviewed by a second editor before publication. The reviewer checks factual accuracy, source fidelity, editorial tone, and the absence of claims that exceed the available evidence.

05

Publication and Ongoing Accuracy

Published articles remain live and are updated if new information materially changes the accuracy of the content. Corrections are noted with the date of amendment at the foot of the relevant article.

Peer-Reviewed Research

Where applicable, articles draw on peer-reviewed nutritional literature. The publication prioritises research published in recognised nutritional and dietary science journals. Study design and sample size are noted where relevant to the strength of any observation.

Independent Dietary Reports

Government dietary guidelines, independent nutrition reports, and established food research organisations are used as secondary sources. These are named where cited.

Field Observation

Some articles draw on first-hand editorial observation of food and eating patterns. In these cases, the observational nature of the piece is stated clearly, and no general conclusions beyond the observed context are drawn.

03 — Accuracy and Corrections

Transparency when something changes.

The editorial team reviews published articles on a periodic basis against newly published research. If a factual claim is found to require revision, the article is updated and a correction note is appended with the date and a brief description of what was amended.

Readers who identify a factual error or a source discrepancy in any published article are encouraged to contact the editorial team at [email protected]. The team aims to review and respond to accuracy queries within five working days.

Editorial updates are not made to change the original position of an article without clear factual grounds. Opinion and editorial framing remain the author's own and are not subject to retrospective revision.

04 — Independence Policy

No commercial influence on subject matter.

Kalmevo Letters does not accept advertising, sponsored content, or affiliate arrangements. No commercial relationship has ever influenced the selection of topics, the framing of articles, or the language used to describe any food, pattern, or approach.

Guest contributors are asked to declare any commercial relationships at the time of submission. If a relationship is identified that could create a conflict of interest, the piece is either declined or the relationship is disclosed at the foot of the published article.

The publication is not affiliated with any food brand, supplement company, nutritional product distributor, or wellness organisation.
